About AJAKA.

Weaving Heritage, Empowering Communities

Established in 2014, Ajaka is a Guwahati-based handloom enterprise committed to reviving and modernising Assam’s rich silk traditions. Specialising in GI-registered Muga Silk, non-violent Eri Silk, and premium Mulberry Silk, Ajaka merges time-honoured weaving techniques with contemporary design sensibilities. Every thread woven at Ajaka carries a story of heritage, dignity, and empowerment.

More than just a brand, Ajaka is a movement. Through its weaving units and community-driven initiatives, it uplifts rural artisans, especially women, by providing fair wages, certified training, and access to national and international markets. With the support of the Aadya Foundation, Ajaka extends its impact through holistic village development — from organic farming and solar electrification to healthcare and skill-building programs.
