With a passion for preserving Assam’s textile legacy, she has trained hundreds of weavers, advocated for artisan rights, and pioneered ethical silk production.

Dr. Santasree Mallik Bhuyan is the visionary Founder and Honorary Director of Ajaka and the President of Aadya Foundation. An Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Bengali at Handique Girls’ College, Dr. Bhuyan blends academia with entrepreneurship and grassroots development.
Dr. Bhuyan’s initiatives include adopting two villages for holistic development, training programs in Majuli, exhibitions at Victoria Memorial and the World Trade Centre, and trailblazing design roles at national fashion events. Her life’s work embodies the spirit of sustainable development, cultural preservation, and women’s empowerment.
